Mother recently gave me a book, The United States Navy Yard Mare Island California 1924. Do you have any information on this book?

I worked in Shop 06, and Code 385. I retired in 1994. I went to work for Chevron Corp. in Richmond the next Monday and retired from Chevron Corp. in April 2006. I still have my health. It has been a nice, rewarding ride for me. I have great memories of Mare Island and probably ended my career there with the best job on M.I. I worked out of the crow's nest in Building 47 for Dennis Farber and Darlene Dell. Great job and great co-workers at the end. Life started out hard but has gotten better each year. Wow.

Trying to find information and pictures of Floating dry dock #7 between 1945 and 1946.
Where is the real history on this site or ?
I found a couple pictures of something but where?
Dissappointment to say the least.

My father, Capt. JJ Dwyer, jr., USMC was commandant of the brig some time after he returned from Guadalcanal. When I was born in very late December 1944 we were living at Quarters #9 on Yerba Buena Island and I assume he didn't commute, although I could be wrong, so he probablt lived on Mare Isalnd at some point between 1942 and 1944. As a disabled Vietnam veteran (Agent Orange), I now receive dental care at the V.A. dental clinic on Walnut Avenue on Mare Isalnd and thast has piqued my curiosity about a part of WWII history and my family connection to it. I don't even know but what my parents 'might' have been married in the base chapel, which would have been March 17th, 1943. I see tremendous potential in the repurposing of the many buildings on Mare Island and will pursue finding out more and will see what I can do with limited funds, limited energy and lots of free time. Thank you for what you are doing.
